Care & Maintenance

Cleaning a spray foam roof is an important part of maintenance and can help extend its lifespan. Here are the steps to clean your spray foam roof:

  1. Inspect the roof: Before you start cleaning, inspect the roof for any signs of damage or deterioration. If you notice any damage, such as cracks or splits, it is important to have them repaired before cleaning the roof.
  2. Remove debris: Use a leaf blower or broom to remove any loose debris, such as leaves, branches, and dirt, from the roof surface.
  3. Rinse the roof: Use a hose with a spray nozzle to rinse the roof surface with water. Start at the highest point of the roof and work your way down. This will help prevent water from pooling on the roof surface.
  4. Apply cleaning solution: Mix a mild detergent, such as dish soap, with water in a bucket. Apply the cleaning solution to the roof surface using a soft-bristled brush or sprayer. Allow the solution to sit for a few minutes.
  5. Rinse the roof again: Rinse the roof surface with clean water using a hose and spray nozzle. Again, start at the highest point of the roof and work your way down.
  6. Allow the roof to dry: Allow the roof surface to air dry completely. Avoid walking on the roof until it is completely dry.

It is important to note that pressure washing should not be used to clean a spray foam roof, as it can damage the foam. Additionally, harsh chemicals should not be used, as they can also damage the foam. If you are unsure about how to properly clean your spray foam roof, please contact us for more information.
